Where your family's Christmas tradition begins

We (Jeff and Tammy Aissen) are 3rd generation Christmas tree growers that planted our first trees in the spring of 1989. We have 2 children, Skyla- 25 married to her husband Nathan Vanderbloemen - 27, Garrit - 21, our 6 year old German Shepherd, Fraser, & our 1.5 year old German Shepherd Claus. Both of our children have become actively involved in the tree farm as they have grown.

For 11 years, we sold Christmas trees on a retail lot in Green Bay before moving our business out to our farm in 2000. This move allowed us to expand into the gift shop, choose and cut trees, and pre-cut trees. Every year our business has grown and has become a popular location for families to make memories while they find that perfect tree. It continues to be a rewarding journey as each year present its own challenges but even more fond memories.

We even had some Packer players come visit us during our Christmas season including Donald Driver, Mike McCarthy, AJ Hawk, and Matt Flynn.

Voted one of the top 10 Christmas Tree Farms in Wisconsin in 2018 and 2019.

Tammy is 3rd generation Christmas tree farmer. Her grandfather, Claude Hess, sold Christmas trees in Milwaukee and purchased land in Wisconsin Rapids. His 2 sons, Donald and Ken Hess started Hess & Sons Tree Farm in Wisconsin Rapids. They sold 40,000 trees per year from their 500+ acres of land throughout the United States including Texas, Florida, South Dakota, Illinois,  Minnesota and all the Stein's stores in Wisconsin. Tammy's parents, Don & Arlene Hess, and her brother Gary Hess are still selling Christmas trees after 60 years but have downscaled to a small retail lot harvesting off of their 9 acres. Tammy met Jeff in 1986 and were married in 1988 when they decided to move to Green Bay to start their own business.

Jeff grew up in Allouez, Green Bay and attended the University of Minnesota where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jeff was offered a job in Wisconsin Rapids at Consolidated Papers and met Tammy through a city intermural basketball league where Tammy's two brother's played.

Skyla, 26, has taken on the challenge of becoming an entrepreneur  and started making kissing balls as her own business in 2006 at the age of 9. She is now a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing. She and her new husband Nathan got married on February 22, 2020 and are hoping to expand the business. Skyla purchased the property across the road from the tree farm at the age of 19 and have thousands of trees already planted for future generations. Skyla also works year round on the tree farm tending fields, making bows, helping with the gift shop, working with customers, and updating the website.

Garrit, our field manager, is in charge of keeping our property clean and presentable for our customers and works all summer mowing, weed controlling, and tending to the trees. He is also in charge of managing our trees and helping customers during the Christmas season.

Nathan grew up as our neighbor and would come fishing in our pond as long as we can remember. At the age of 11, he started helping us on our farm & helped Skyla with her kissing balls from the very beginning. Nathan and Skyla worked together for the past 13 years building the business and got married on February 22nd, 2020. Nathan has taken on several rolls on the farm including tree manager during the Christmas season.
